My son's surgery

My oldest son Kellan, is resting from his appendix surgery done on Febuary 14, 2012. A Valentine's day to remember :) It started the day before (Monday) at about 3 or 4 am. He decided to reenact some scenes from Heaven is For Real. He said his stomach was hurting. I gave him some liquid pain medicine that he did not keep down. At first I thought to myself is he getting the stomach flu again? It seems a bit strange when he just had it a few weeks ago. He stayed home from school to rest up. I made sure he had plenty of water and ginger ale which he managed to keep down and some saltine crackers. He didn't have much of an appetite but was thirsty.

The next day, instead of getting better he seemed to get worse. He was in so much pain. Kellan usually has a high tolerance of pain. I thought about the book and started to think something wasn't right. We went to urgent care and then were transferred to the emergency room. The doctors were leaning to a appendicitis. He was sent to have a CT Scan which confirmed that what was 98% the problem. A while later he had surgery done to remove the pesky appendix that had started to burst. Dr. Lindsey was able to use a scope to extract the appendix. Kellan has three cuts on his abdominal that are healing. I praise God for giving me the wisdom to take him in. I also praise him that I was able to finish the Heaven is For Real book in December. God saved Kellan's life and I am sharing to give all the glory to him. Kellan is resting and on the road to recovery.God is good all the time. I thank him for saving my son and for giving his son on the cross so that we could all live.

I would highly recommend the book Heaven is for Real.

God's Word for Febuary 8, 2012

It is thought that the closer you get to God, the harder Satan works against you. He is a great deceiver that will stop at nothing to win your soul. Just remember that God is more powerful, true and good and Satan is not. God truly cares for and loves you. The Enemy will not prevail. Never give up the fight. Jesus will protect your heart even when your mind may seem to be straying. Pray and talk to God and he will put you back on his righteous path.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up agings the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5

no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17

Satan may even work against you through your friends and family. It may get harder before it gets better. But again, never give up the good fight. God will only make you stronger in the end. The world is only getting crazier and becoming a cesspool of evil and disregard for human life. Remember what Christ has overcome for each one of us. God gave us his word to use as weapons that Satan is powerless against them.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."John 16:33
Thank you Lord for your word. Thank you for your son whom gave his life for us. I will never give up and thank you for your special message that you sent me. I trust in you and will follow you all the days of my life. I am only good because of you and everything you do.

Goodwill Shopping: Febuarary 2, 2012

Today, I found some New with Tag shoes from the As Is Side. They are Mossimo from Target but I got them for $1.29. They are really nice flats. Glad I found these beauties. In case you are wondering, I am a short girl with big feet ;) My feet have actually grown after having my kids. I used to be a size 8 but now I am a 9 or 10 depending on the brand and style.

God's word for Febuary 2, 2012

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

God's words are so beautiful and uplifting. I love this scripture, it really hits home how important each life is to God and how he has a specific plan for each and every one of us. I thank him for my wonderful children, who bring joy to my heart on a daily basis. Even when they have their moments of irritation, anger and how can I put this, disregard for authority LOL overall, they are great children who have a heart of gold and are a blessing to many. I could not imagine my life without them. They teach me something even when they are having difficult moments.

I know there is a plan for each and every one of my children. Which also makes me reflect on the days when I feel like I am not impacting the world enough or even my family enough. God has a plan and purpose for me as he does for everyone. I am learning to lean on him and trust him for guidance and strength. Which teaches my children something as well."Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6) Lord, I trust in you to guide me on the right path and to influence others, including my family in a positive manner. I know you have great plans for me and my family and I will follow you and talk to you everyday. You are a shine a light into the world:) Thank you again for all you have given us. In Jesus name, Amen.
