The embellishment I had on my clip came off. So, what is a mom to do? I tried using my glue gun to put it back on but it wouldn't stay. Then I decided to use some scraps I had to make a new one. I cut the material to fit the top of the clip and used my glue gun to keep it on. I then cut out three circles and glued them on top of one another. I cut slits in them here and there to get a "flower" like look. I glued a button in the middle and then glued the final piece onto the clip. I think it turned out cute.

The Great Gatsby

This is a story that unfolds in the 1920's, prohibition era. Nick is the narrator of the novel. Nick is a late 20 something, who is trying to decide how he wants to earn a living. The Great Gatsby is his elusive, rich neighbor that always seems to have lavish parties filled with random people, that most of whom he doesn't even know. One day he sends a personal invitation to Nick. Nick can't decide what the truth is about Gatsby and is seems to go from liking to disliking either him or the character he portrays. Nick, soon finds out that Gatsby has a somewhat unhealthy obsession with Nick's cousin Daisy.
This was a classic novel that I enjoyed and was entertained throughout with the various characters in Nick's life and the changing and somewhat twisting plot. Most of characters were not lovable but very memorable. It was a bit of a dark comedy and drama. I would recommend reading this and crossing it off your classic list. It is a fairly easy and enjoyable read.

God's word for January 19, 2012
Losing a loved one is hard. You cannot take away the hurt and pain one must feel. You may be feeling so many different emotions yourself. Losing someone effects many. You never know how much just listening and being there for someone can help.
I believe in showing Christ's love is the best thing you can do. I have a few scriptures memorized but I would like to memorize more and especially those pertaining to loss.
"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep." Romans 12:15, is a great start to my journey. My life isn't about me and I must say "no" to my flesh daily. I am imperfect but everyday God is changing me. I want to make my heavenly father rejoice and bring a smile to Jesus even when his heart is breaking. Sometimes, it is best to just listen and show love rather than argue about things you may disagree on. Pray for God's help and healing touch. Lord, let me show your love, grace and mercy onto others. Let me live the legacy that you would like me too. I want to be a blessing onto others. Thank you for your word and guidance everyday.

sweater weather
It is chilly today! but my wonderful oldest son took some pictures of me. I found this great sweater at Goodwill As Is yesterday, for $1.29, The top underneath I found at another thrift store in our town for cheap (can't remember the price got it awhile ago) the pants I got on a previous trip for the same price. They are getting a little big on me, but that is a good thing. I like them and they are very comfortable. That is where a belt can come in handy ;) I also got the scarf at Goodwill As Is I know they are less than a buck. The boots I got a garage sale a few years ago for a couple of dollars. The headband is from Payless on sale for $2 and the earrings I got at either Hospice thrift store of Goodwill for around $1. That is my frugal, cute and comfy outfit.
